Marin Information and Data Access Systems

About

Public agencies rely on secure and reliable networks to provide critical and efficient services to the public every day. These networks include internet connections at public buildings, 24/7 access to law enforcement and justice systems, and the ability to share data between agencies.

Marin Information and Data Access Systems (MIDAS) is a consortium of government and nonprofit agencies who share reliable and secure network infrastructure. MIDAS infrastructure includes internet connections at public buildings; access to law enforcement, emergency response and justice systems; and the ability to share data between agencies.

Members

MIDAS serves government agencies and non-profits.

MIDAS members get access to reliable, secure, shared network services for less than it would cost for commercial internet service providers and network infrastructure support. Services are provided better, cheaper, and faster than if each agency procured the same services individually.

MIDAS manages the billing, support, and maintenance of the network infrastructure so that member agencies can focus their in-house resources on technology strategy and line of business applications.

MIDAS members engage regularly with each other and benefit from shared expertise. This allows them to collaborate, learn from each other, and leverage specialized knowledge.
