Collaboration continues to bridge the digital divide in Marin’s most under-served communities. The Marin Community Foundation, County of Marin, and Sausalito Marin City School District (SMCSD) partnered to provide free Comcast Internet Essentials service to 300 households for two years.  The partnership is also planning public outdoor Wi-Fi access at three locations in Marin City.

“Of the many impacts the pandemic has amplified, access to technology is one that touches our residents in multiple ways. From remote learning, accessing public services, communications and outreach, the availability of high-speed internet has proven to be a barrier for many. This collaboration is an important first step towards a more comprehensive solution.”

Javier Trujillo, Chief Assistant Director of Marin County Information Systems and Technology department
