Nicasio Broadband Network
About
In a public-private partnership between the Nicasio Landowners Association and Inyo Networks, high-speed fiber broadband now passes homes and businesses in the sparsely populated western Marin County. The initial project serves approximately 220 residences in Nicasio , and includes provisions to further close the digital divide by providing discounted service to low-income residents.
The Nicasio effort succeeded with the support and assistance of:
- Supervisor Dennis Rodoni
- The County's Information Services and Technology (IST) department
- The County's Department of Public Works
- The County Administrator's Office
Inyo was awarded a $2.5M grant from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) with the remaining funds coming from Nicasio residents and other sources.
